If you wish for these packages to be in the list open the configuration file either within Solseek (tools->configuration) or edit the config file directly nano ~/.config/solseek/config' If the variables are not already in the config, add them. Set either or both to 1 to have those packages show up in the list.

Overview This is phase one of a UI update!

Enhancements:

  • Tweaked the UI for the terminal actions. These are minor tweaks for readability.
  • Added 15 new themes!

New Themes: This is a bit of a work in progress, and the new themes are currently limited to the TUI not the terminal commands. Another note is that the themes still need work to be properly readable depending on your terminal theme. Primarily due to the terminal theme bleeding through as I currently do not overwrite terminal colors for text. This is something I intend to do later.

Bug Fix:

  • Add check for using Solseek in pure TTY or via SSH. Running in pure TTY with no X11 or Wayland session would cause notification errors to show. Running Solseek via ssh without sudo would cause issues due to how Flatpak runs. Solseek now detects the environment and adjusts accordingly.

Enhancements:

  • Swapped the Nvidia 480 driver for the 580 as the legacy Nvidia driver package.
  • Added an auto package cache clean-up function and setting. This is phase one and only checks and performs during updates using Solseek, either through the cli solseek up or through the TUI. The new setting is called SS_EOPKG_CLEAN_DAYS and is disabled by default. You can view the details in the Solseek Wiki. The future plan is to have this handled in the background.

  • Changed the eopkg info Python to generate a proper cache file instead of parsing the xml.xz file every time. This reduces CPU load and removes the Python tax, as it is called with normal caching.
  • Package info now uses the cache created by the Python script using native awk, which has drastically reduced latency and overhead.
  • Changed the boot script to only run through all the checks and setting most vars on the parent script launch. It now sets a session cache for the subscripts to use, reducing overhead.
